A whole-school approach is adopted in the delivery of NE. It is infused into through various NE related programmes such as the four commemorative events, CCE lessons and the co-curriculum programmes across all levels in alignment to the school NE framework and MOE’s head, heart and hands’ approach. NE programmes provide a platform for our pupils to demonstrate the CCE Vision of ‘Growing a Big Heart’ where pupils will develop caring hearts, creative minds and become confident individuals and have opportunities display the C2015 outcomes being caring and concerned citizens who are active contributors.
Our NE Vision: Embrace Diversity, Unite as One
In White Sands, Pupils will be provided with a rich experience and growth through the three domains expounded in our NE Framework; Active Citizenship, Expanded World View and Social Cohesion, which together encapsulates the Singapore Story to guide the school to achieve our NE Vision - Embrace Diversity, Unite as One’.
Through our NE vision, we hope to instil key character traits such as being concerned and active citizens who are loyal and committed to the family and nation and display our school values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilient and Rallying Together.
Our NE intent is realized through various NE related programmes such as Total Defence Day (TTD), International Friendship Day (IFD), Racial Harmony Day (RHD) and National Day Celebration.
Hearts Shine Fiesta, our annual signature event, provides a platform for pupils to display caring hearts, creative minds and confidence where they will work hand in hand with the school to meet the community needs and achieve the C2015 outcomes of being caring and concerned citizens who are active contributors.
