White Sands Primary Parent Support Group
Our school has had a very strong tradition of active parent involvement and support across various activities. Taking over from the previous Chairperson, Mdm. Chiew Geok, who had helmed the PSG very efficiently for the past two years, is indeed daunting for me. However, with her guidance and strong support from the school leaders, staff and dedicated parents, I am very sure that we rally together to make this support group a big success.
Already in the first half of 2016 we have had many exciting and successful events such as the Heart Shine Fund Raising Fiesta for the fitting of air-conditioners in the school hall, International Friendship Day, Racial Harmony Day and numerous excursions which both the students and parents enjoyed.
Our PSG consists of a group of caring parents who volunteer their time and effort to support the school and students. With the knowledge, support and expertise you bring as a parent, your involvement through school-home collaboration can make a difference to foster a healthy home-school link and the development of not only your child but that of many others too.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the new parents who have joined our group and of course thank the existing parents in the group for their valuable time and contribution which is certainly appreciated by all.
PSG members not only work but also have great bonding times together. Members of the PSG often have personal development time through coffee talks held by Family Matters @ School, PSG get-togethers like the recently held Changi Board Walk followed by Bowling @ Civil Service club etc.
Please join us and rally together to create platforms for learning, sharing and contributing to the school goals as well as building friendships while we serve the school. Do feel free to share with us your ideas, feedback and expertise in our sessions together.
Looking forward to your continued support and a fantastic year ahead!
